Testimonies of Jesus Christ

 And His Restored Gospel

This website dedicated to the humble seeker of truth; that he may have cause to believe by reading the many testimonies of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ which truly shows that God lives and loves each of us and has a plan for all His children on Earth.   I testify to you that what I say is true, that through revelation to modern prophets Jesus Christ has re-established His church again to the Earth with all its power, authority and blessings, including the priesthood power to seal on Earth and in Heaven, the same that was given to the Apostle Peter of old.

Why is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints growing so rapidly in the world? The reason is the Spirit of God is touching the hearts of people being taught by missionaries of the church.  They can feel that spirit of peace and joy that come from the Holy Ghost testifying of the truth.   You may already believe in Jesus Christ, but the restored Gospel takes you further in your quest for truth by becoming members of the church that Jesus Christ Himself established in the latter days, where God has called prophets and apostles to lead the church through revelation just as he did in His original church.  It’s a joy to understand the purpose of life in the light of the restored Gospel Jesus Christ.

Testimony of Joseph Smith, First Prophet of the Latter-Day

 God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith at age of 14 while praying and seeking the truth about religion.

Of this first vision Joseph Smith said:

I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other--This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him! Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith History 1:17

“He lives for we saw Him”  Testimony of Jesus in the Vision of Heaven

Section 76 contains a vision that Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon received of the three degrees of Glory (or Heavens) as the Apostle Paul mentions in 1 Cor 15:40-42 and 2 Corinthians 12:2. The section explains which class of men will inherit each of these three kingdoms.

Relating part of this Vision he said:

And we beheld the glory of the Son, on the right hand of the Father, and received of his fulness; And saw the holy angels, and them who are sanctified before his throne, worshiping God, and the Lamb, who worship him forever and ever.  And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all which we give of him: That he lives!  For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father-- That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God.    D&C 76:20-24

Oliver Cowdery and Joseph Smith testify of the vision of the Lord Jesus Christ appearing in the Kirtland, Ohio Temple in 1836.

THE veil was taken from our minds, and the eyes of our understanding were opened.  We saw the Lord standing upon the breastwork of the pulpit, before us; and under his feet was a paved work of pure gold, in color like amber.  His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:  I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father.  Behold, your sins are forgiven you; you are clean before me; therefore, lift up your heads and rejoice. (D&C 110:1-5)

The Lord Testifies All Must repent and accept His Atonement.

The first principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are to have faith in Christ, repent of our sins, be baptized for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands.  Through the grace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ we can receive forgiveness of our sins because Christ has already suffered for them.

Through a revelation to Joseph Smith, the Lord commands Martin Harris to repent.  He  testifies of His suffering for all men.

  Therefore I command you to repent--repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore--how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not.

  For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;

  But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;

  Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit--and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink--

  Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.  D&C 19:15-19 (see also Luke 22:44)

Ancient American Scripture Testifies of Jesus Christ

“In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established?” (2 Corinthians 13:1)  The Book of Mormon is “Another Testament of Jesus Christ” that stands with the Bible to testify of mission of Jesus Christ the son of God and Savior of the world.  It was translated by the gift and power of God from ancient records, written on thin plates of gold.   This book is a sacred history of a branch of the House of Israel who left Jerusalem 600 B.C. and sailed in a ship to the Americas.  The prophets testified of the coming of Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of the world hundreds of years before his birth.   It includes the account of the visit of the resurrected Christ to the American continent in the year 34 A.D. and ended with the account of the last prophet, Moroni, in 421 A.D.   After reading the sample chapters below, you will understand why so many people believe the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and why the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is growing so rapidly around the world.

Witnesses of the Book of Mormon

Joseph Smith was not the only one who was a witness to the gold plates and the Angel Moroni.  God chose three others to be witnesses of this truth.  The Angle Moroni appeared to Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer and Martin Harris and showed them the gold plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated. “In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established?” (2 Corinthians 13:1)

Brown  President Brown prepares a brief on why he believes Joseph Smith was a prophet of God  --  Quoting from the talk, his friend and colleague said "You have told me that you believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that you believe that God the Father and Jesus of Nazareth appeared to him in vision.  "I cannot understand," he said, "how a barrister and solicitor from Canada, a man trained in logic and evidence and unemotional cold fact, could accept such absurd statements.  What you tell me about Joseph Smith seems fantastic, but I wish you would take three days at least to prepare a brief and permit me to examine it and question you on it."  An Address By President Hugh B. Brown Of the First Presidency.  General Conference, October 1967
